Class LL - 1st round
No. 5 Bristol Eastern 6, No. 28 Middletown 0: Middletown’s five errors in the second inning led to five Bristol Eastern runs as the Dragons wrapped up their season in the first round of the Class LL tournament in a 6-0 loss in Bristol.
Bristol Eastern’s Sarah Belliveau pitched a two-hit shutout and teammate Kristy Benvenuto was 3-for-3 with two runs.
“We’re a young team, and our mistakes during the year kept biting us,” Middletown coach Scott Ahlers said. “That’s what took us out of this game — one bad inning, a few mistakes. Overall, though, the team played really well this season. We have a good base going into next year.”
